Living at my folks

In January I'll be moving in with my folks Terry and Ray. They live on a great big lake in the wilds of Canada. It's a beautiful place full of clean air, open water, wind and wild animals. The backyard is home to ornamental creatures, raspberries, a biffy and potatoes hills. To summarize, its a small piece of heaven. And I'm going to move there for 4 months.

Heaven is at least how I see it. Others may see an isolated spot without a whole lot to do. But if you're like me... sort of an outdoor junkie... you see the expanse of the frozen lake waiting for your tracks to be made. Cold mornings setting out to snowshoe run. I realize this certainly isn't everyone's cup o' tea but I gotta tell ya, it gets my blood pumping just thinking about it. :-) On my to do list: gain some skills, snowshoe lots, run on the roads, build my website, hang with the folks, get to know some people out there, take good photos, record stories from Mom and Ray, eat good food and cook. I think I'll be as busy or as bored as I want to be.

I thought what better way to stay in contact with friends/family who are interested in keeping track of me than a blog. Those of you who are lucky enough to know my folks will appreciate what unique and wonderful people they are. Funny and wise, sometimes hard of hearing but never hard of heart. And to others you'll find out about 2 fairly cool people living their senior years on their own terms.

Feel free to drop by and check out what's been happening with me on the North Shore of the lake they live on. I'll be posting photos here and on Facebook.
